About us

The Vicky Michelle Academy of Dance is a friendly dance school based in Rudgwick and also hold classes in Billingshurst. We offer classes under the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dance, including Ballet, Tap and Modern, as well as Street Dance, Jazz and Contemporary dance classes. Classes are available from ages 2+ right up to adult classes.

Students have the option to take technical and/or performance exams as well as having the opportunity to perform at local events. We also want to encourage a level of discipline, respect and of course, a sense of fun, enjoyment and fitness.

We are a small but expanding school. Our intimate class size offers a personal and attentive teaching atmosphere and a high quality of teaching. We offer sibling and multi-class discounts to all of our classes.

Vicky Michelle Freeman-White

Vicky has always been passionate about performing arts and has a particular interest in Dance and Drama. She graduated from Italia Conti Arts Centre in 2012 with a three-year Performance and Musical Theatre Diploma. Further to this Vicky attended Guildford College and gained her Professional Certificate in Education. Vicky also holds her ISTD Ballet, Tap & Modern Diploma in Dance Instruction (DDI) and ISTD Ballet, Tap & Modern Diploma in Dance Education (DDE). Since graduating and completing her studies, Vicky has focused on teaching dance for a number of local schools. Vicky is a registered teacher with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and the British Theatre Dance Association (BTDA).

Previous to VMA Dance, Vicky has worked for Montford School of Dance and Stage and Dynamic Tots.

Vicky is very excited about the future VMA Dance and thoroughly enjoys sharing her knowledge in dance to others.

Currently teaching the Tap, Jazz and Ballet Classes at VMA Dance, Vicky holds her full CRB enhanced disclosure, Public Liability insurance and First Aid at work certificate.

Natasha Black - Musical Theatre Teacher

Miss Tash started dancing and performing at a young age and hasn't stopped since. As a child she took part in many shows and completed exams in Drama and Dance throughout school and college. At just 16 she went on to train professionally at Italia Conti Arts Centre. Here she completed her LAMDA (London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art) qualifications and trained to become a teacher of Drama and Dance attaining her Diploma in Dance Instruction (DDI) in Ballet, Tap and Modern with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD) and the Professional Certificate in Education (PCE), as well as taking her Advanced 2 level dance exams, which are the highest standard achievable and gaining a Diploma in Performing Arts.

Upon graduating, Miss Tash realised her passion for teaching and began teaching dance classes at Guildford Spectrum. Here she also gained qualification in Swim Teaching, Cheerleading Coaching and Trampoline Coaching.

Natasha started working for VMA Dance in Jan 2015 teaching Musical Theatre. With this class she has already produced two amazing productions, Annie and Matilda. Natasha is looking forward to becoming even more involved in VMA Dance as she goes on to teach Ballet, Tap, Modern and Contemporary classes this year.
